I have looked this up on the internet for days with no luck. I cant figure out what it is or what its purpose is. My Mazda3 had it too. Any guesses?

The little circle vent thingy next to the AC button.

with push button start-
if you look at the inner part of the right hand side of steering wheel-
you can see the push button start-
if you look a lil up and toward the outside of the steering wheel- you can see the mysterious grill.....

That photo shows me my car is fine, my airbag cover with the badge also looks like its somewhat distorted like it was bent or twisted on install. Apparently its suppose to look like that. Kinda crappy

Wrooong ... I'm from Egypt and my car is equipped with start engine button and i have this too .. i think it is for the auto ac sensor.

That's a humidity sensor. That's cool these cars have them.

Thank you for reading the rest of the thread, and checking the pictures Dojaman.

Your post was a beacon of light in an otherwise dark and gloomy thread about something nobody anywhere knows anything about.

but yeh, glad to see my airbag coverplate or w/e isnt a 1 of a kind fuckup, they all look like they were mangled.
