Which parts store do you prefer?

I've been an Auto Zone guy for years. My local store is staffed with decently knowlegable folks, and one young fella in particular really knows his stuff. However, their store is pretty small. I guess that's common for Auto Zone. My local Pep Boys is huge, but they seem like the Wal-Mart of auto parts stores.

An O'Reilly's recently opened up nearby, and I'm planning on checking them out. Which shop do you prefer for your consumables or maintenance-related shopping?

Around here, autozone and pepboys will hire anyone. Not people who ACTUALLY have car related experience. I'm fine with people getting jobs but at least TRAIN them. I went in there for my old car to get some tune up parts and the guy asked if my v4 camry was a diesel? sheeesh

HAHA! That so just made my night!
I have good luck with one of 3 AutoZone's in my area...Good staff and the Manager is a family friend. Hooks me up with discounts when possible and knows his stuff...

like spicy though I go to a few other places...locally owned that are quite knowledgeable too....
Don't get me wrong, I'd be first in line for a locally-owned, mom and pop shop. Trouble is I live in a suburban area burning its way through a trend-driven population explosion, and business establishments with even a trace of a soul are few and far between. :(
i voted other ill have to go with dealer i work for a gm dealership parts at cost :D for the wifes car and the truck and the kia ill do a dealer trade for parts
Advance autoparts is good because the people are trained to help you do DIY stuff.
advance autoparts are more helpful, but the store here is really small, about 1/4 the size of pep boys here
