I live in Michigan and we have frost on our windshields most mornings. I've noticed I have some scratches on my windshield from my plastic scaper. I have never once had this problem on any car that I have owned, and I'm wondering if I'm on the only one that has noticed it? They're big enough scratches that your fingernail can find them on the windshield.

As for the BT, I've had a few people who I have talked to using the BT and they say that it sounds like I'm in the bottom of a hole talking to them. I don't know if it's my phone or not, but I've used a BT earpiece in teh past and have never had a complaint. Anyone else notice this?

The BT is a little 'cave like'... because you're sitting in a tin can. The earpiece ones are a lot closer to your mouth, and as such don;t have to compete with as much background noise, etc. Yeah, Kia's BT sucks to begin with, but it's not 'all' bad... some of it is just the fact that it's mounted in a car.

As for the windshield, we scrape our's daily for 7 months of the year, and I never have had an issue, even in the Forte. One of the tricks I have learned is when parking at the end of a drive home, use your wipers and wash the windshield - even if it doesn't look dirty. This clears any road spray off the glass, so the frost will be the only thing on the glass come morning. Another suggestion is to only scrape where the wipers hit - especially important if you use suggestion one. Going off the wiper area will certainly drag particles back across the glass. Of course, you're always going to start every season with a fresh blade, and check it for nicks and marks as the season goes on.

Maybe some of these are things you already do, but I am just posting for the sake of completeness as there are plenty of new owners who may only have had a few (if any) winters in their cars.

Just to add to what KiaTech suggested.
I do alott of highway driving once I switched to rain-x windshield wiper fluid it was nite & day. I also used rain-x anti fog on the inside of windshield/windscreen and it sure helps reduce the film that attaches from the plastics. For cleaning glass I use invisible glass.

The BT mic is located behind the steering wheel for some odd reason which is probably the reason why you come out sounding as though you're in a hole. If the mic was placed up high on the a-pillar or on or near the visor, the voice would be more direct and clearer.
At least it comes with BT so I'm happy.

The mic IS placed near the visor, right above the drivers head on the headliner.

The mic is the little circle with the 3 holes located above the driver's head. I found that I sounded like I was in a cave and got an echo when talking but if I turn down the volume on my stereo to around 18-22, the other person says that it clears up a lot. I think that the mic picks up the conversation over the speakers and causes problems. Keep the volume down a bit and it will clear up a lot of the conversation.

What is the thing to the right of and behind the steering wheel then? It looks like it could be a mic! I've looked through the owner's manual a couple times trying to figure out which of those things is the mic.

The BT mic is on roof trim above driver.

To the right of steering wheel , was where in ASEAN markets & possibly others the push start ignition is. That just appears to be just a cover.

It's something to do with the inside temperature sensor for the auto climate control (only on Canadian models).

Nope that's not where the Push Button Start Goes Either. I know this picture is the sedan, but you can see the Start Button Clearly Below the Small Round "Vent" on the dash.

The piece you are talking about it part of the HVAC system. I don't know if it actually serves a purpose on models not equipped with the Climate Control system, but on that model it is part of the temperature control. It draws interior cabin air in to regulate the AC's speed and Temperature.
