Good! That's the price to be paid for being cheap. A few extra dollars per car and this never would have happened.

Shit, I can't even bear the thought of buying a car without keyless start again.
At least the shit humans doing the crime are not being held accountable.
Wonder why TikTok that popularized the thefts isn't being sued.

Section 230. Same reason twitter doesn't get sued for hosting nazis.

If websites are ever liable for hosting content posted by anonymous individuals, it all goes away. This site, and anywhere else you can post discussions. Nobody is going to want to be under legal threat because of what some rando decides to post on their website.

I still cannot believe that no mention of action against the idiots that are stealing the cars in the first place..... And about being cheap, I don't believe Kia did that with the intention that someone would take advantage of this. It's not good for their reputation, the same reputation they spent so much time trying to improve. If this were the case we would have to also blame Honda for making the Civic and Integra so impossibly easy to steal, my Integra was stolen on 4 separate occasions.... I not once thought "Oh this is Honda/Acura's fault for being cheap and not making their car harder to steal." My first thought was "This low life stole my car".

You are correct about websites - but the people who post should be held accountable - just like someone who yells "fire" in a crowded theater.

Yet Kia is not near the top of the most stolen cars list so why should they pay for the juvenile thugs criminality encouraged by the China app? It makes everyone pay more for Kia's cars. That means we all pay for the loser kids actions.
Yes the cars did not have immobilizers. But owners could have taken some steps too such as steering wheel locks or wheel locks or alarms etc.
I just am not a fan of low-life attorneys grabbing big cash and then giving the Kia owners mere chump change (as are most class action suits). While they're at it why not also sue the judges who let the juvenile ciminals go repeatedly after multiple arrests as they should have been in jail instead of stealing Kia cars. . Then also their moms and dads...Etc. Etc. See, there is plenty of fault to go around.
