Thanks for this info Enviros. I knew I had dead space in my throttle just didn't know I could do anything about it. After reading your first post yesterday I went out and checked how much I had. I can press my pedal down about 3/4 of an inch before it responds! It's raining like cats and dogs outside right now but as soon as I can get out there...I'm gonna do it! Thanks again man!

I dont know for sure? Will need confirmation from someone...perhaps you? I dont know the Koup but i do have the SX sedan so why dont you be the guinea pig? I'm sure this will work for all forte's but again would need confirmation.

It worked I did do it and the min a tap the gas there's responce before I used to play with the clutch and gas now it more like go no more bog at take off I twisted the cap to the left all the way the gap shifted once again you are a beast

Just tried it on my coup SX. Worked like a charm. I had about 1/2 -3/4" of play and now I've got it down to mm or nothing. Its perfect..

Very true - I did mine with the pedal in the car so you can see hear the rpm raise if you've gone too far.

I noticed the same thing, is yours a 4 speed?
I'm thinking it's because of the gearing.
Used a 1/4 socket with a philips bit in it, easy compared to doing it with a screwdriver while its still attached to the car.

I'm starting to think that this the reason why my 2nd gear is not smooth. It's a "drive by wire" so there is a lag between the time it takes for the gas to kick in vs. clutch release. Even though it's only a little bit of "play", it looks like its affecting it. I'll do it this weekend and let you guys know how it goes...

No it doesnt Your idle is controlled by the computer and the throttle positioning sensor (TPS) The computer may have to still account for the position or it could be cold still. All your moving is the dead spot.

You did this while it was running? I'll say it again, this is only a dead play fix... there is other things that control RPM and i'm sure this is not one of them.
