Was a passenger in my daughter's car today and noticed a loud clunking noise whenever she turned her steering wheel, especially at low speeds. Of course the car had the famous steering wheel whoosh sound which two dealers said was normal and not to be concerned. The car still drives fine and at 85,000 miles, I know they will not be covering any of it. Am I right in guessing that this is most likely the worm gear?
