Is anyone experiencing issues filling up their Forte GT's or other '19 and up sedans? When the pump kicks off it splashes fuel out of the filler and down the quarter panel. If I try to fill it slowly it's even worse. Is this a thing?

That's generally a problem with the EVAP system vent valve.
Have you always stopped pumping once the pump kicks off or, in the past, have you filled more fuel after it clicks off? Filling more after the pump stops can allow liquid fuel into the charcoal canister, damaging it and clogging the system.
I'd say there's an issue with the EVAP system. Possibly the canister was bad when installed. I'd take it back to the dealer. It shouldn't do that and it will be covered under the warranty.
I have a 2019 FE, never had this problem. Agree about the EVAP possibility, but I wonder if you have this at different stations/pumps. Could be a pump/nozzle issue.
I have a 2019 Forte S and it does this too. No matter what gas station I go to or how I have the hose running into the tank it does it. And like OP says, if you catch it before and slowly add fuel in it happens even worse than when it shuts off automatically. It's annoying and a waste of gas I'm paying for.
Did you ever figure out the trouble? My daughter's car does the same thing. Sounds like a Kia problem, never seen this happen in a vehicle before. No, I don't agree that the issue is the vehicles Evaporative system, the valve in the gas handle should close when the fuel gets to the nozzle level.
I have to have the nozzle hanging halfway out to stop the back flow from spraying out of the tank but even that is iffy and only works about 50% of the time. I just deal with it and know I'm wasting ~$0.10 of gas with every fill up.
My 21 FE doesn’t do this. My old Volvo used to every once in a while randomly though. There wasn’t any consistency to it. If it’s consistent though, I’d take it to the dealer and have them inspect the evap system and filler neck.
My wife tends to add a bit more after the click on our JGC. I get angry & yell at her to not top the tank. I'm not fixing the damn evap system, canister. You can take it to Dodge.
One way to prevent this from happening is to stop filling the tank in "one shot". When you know the tank is about 3/4 full (if you know you'll need about 10 gallons and you hit 7.5 gallons) stop the fuel flow for a moment to let the tank pressure dissipate...and then go back to refueling. Stop the refueling a few more times before you finally get the first auto shut-off. Agreed that it shouldn't happen at all but common sense says to keep it safe.
I have a two thousand nineteen Kia Forte LXS It does this very same thing Fuel splashes out and it does not shut off when filling your gas tank. My wife and I seem to think they should have put a Better fill hose into the tank. It splashes gas out when filling up.
Your car is bulimic. You need to build its self confidence. Or look into it’s evap system for issues. All fuel components are emission devices that are warranted by law for specified amounts of time. Go to a dealership it might not cost a penny.
