Hi all,

In the process of tuning my 2017 Forte S (147hp 2.0L I4 MPI engine). Main goals are to improve handling & acceleration, tighter/smoother throttle response, and to open up the engine sound a bit. I'd like the upgrades to be subtle, not looking to track this thing, just want a more enjoyable daily driving experience as I tend to be a more spirited driver.

Tuning so far:
  • Replaced 16" stock wheels w/ 17" Borbet Type RE wheels wrapped in Continental ExtremeContact DSW06 Plus's
  • Bosch Double Iridium spark plugs
  • Engine flush & fuel system cleaning
  • Switched to full synthetic oil & 91 octane fuel

These changes alone have this car riding better than factory new imo. Shifts are quicker/smoother, throttle response is better, car seems a lot punchier.

Looking for recommendations on:
  • best/safest way to lower suspension by 1.25"
  • ECU remap/performance chips
  • how to get a throatier engine sound without replacing exhaust system

(any general suggestions/tips are welcome)

Thank you!

- Edward

I believe Evilla has a rear sway bar for the second gen, along with some other chassis stuff

This rear sway bar works perfect on that car. If you live where it snows you will need to remove it for winter since the back end will slide around way too easy.
REAR ANTI-ROLL Kit (Rear Sway Bar Only) - HYUNDAI Veloster 1.6L (eibach.com)

Does that motor have the MAF right after the air box? If not this might work, we had this on a 2015 Forte 2.0

If your going for looks you could do springs but if your just after handling the rear swaybar might be all you need.
