$180 - OHIO ....50% is what the law states here as well...I have had 20% & 35% and was only pulled over by a State boy once, which was a warning. Passed him several times there after and he never pulled me back over. Depending on the day 35% does not seem very dark. I wouldn't even think of wasting money on 50%. It's barely noticeable.

Well stay away from Lakewood, Middleburg Hts, and North Royalton since they all have hard ons for tint now. Pulled over 4 times last year I unfortunately live right smack in the middle of all three...Parma! So my daily driver (Forte 5) has 50% on front....my other cars mostly have 20%

50% is very noticable.....it's just not dark

50% on front 30% back

Virginia tint law/state is VERY strict...

Go to a tint shop and ask them to show you what 35% looks like... It's pretty clear still.. I originally planned to get 35% tint because here the legal limit is 70%, but after seeing what 35% looked at I didn't even really think it would be worth it to pay the money to get that done, and I don't like having windows different tint %. So I ended up going with 20% and it looks way better, and I don't regret it at all, if I see a cop I either open my windows or open the sunroof to let some more light into the cabin to lighten up the windows.

But yea $250 sounds like too much money, and even though the guy here told me that it was illegal to do 20% he didn't make me sign anything.. sounds a little sketchy to me, although it's possible the laws are different where you are or something. I paid a good deal less than that and I even got my side markers tinted.
Virginia is super strict and I am NOT a big fan of the police here. They pull you over for really, really trifling stuff, and then prosecute the crap out of you. I almost got jail time because my dogs rabies certificate was expired. Bullsnot.

Thanks for the info....Never go to any of those places.....As far as the 50%, yea it's slightly noticeable. All I am saying is I wouldn't waste my money on that. My thoughts are tint is supposed to give you some level of privacy and 50% doesn't provide that at all. Of course this is only my opinion & .02. I will say though that your 50% looks darker than the many many cars I've seen before with that percentage. Could be lighting. I even know of a friend who put 50% on only to find out later by a cop that he had a darker percentage. So either the tint shop intentionally went darker or the cops equipment was faulty. Your 5 looks good though.

I personally didnt like the look of lite up front dark in the back, this is mine %30 all round for comparision. I consider it pretty thin but I still like it.

Same here...I thought that too but tried to stay somewhat legal so I went 35% front and 20% rear. Thought it would be a huge difference but it actually transitions nicely...

Legal limit in WV is 35%, so I went 5% all the way around, sidemarkers, tails and reflectors too ;) I'll take my chances, been kicking 5% for over a year. Going to see my eye specialist next week for my migraines. Gonna ask for an affidavit for the tint.

In Ontario the legal limit if 35% in front and 5% in the back, I didnt really care about the law and went 15% all around, I even recommended a buddy of mine to do the same. I payed $220 at Trim Tech in Oshawa, and I would pay the same price again. Here are some pictures of the tint being installed. I couldent go into the shop but there was a window ;) Ill get some pictures of how it looks now, and I have never had a problem with cops about the tint.

Um... they have these things called sunglasses. Somehow I doubt an eye doctor is going to trump state law. You are mainly looking out the front windshield... which is nto tinted. So it's not going to make a bit of difference anyway.

I want to get mine done soon. Michigan law prohibits any tint whatsoever on the front side windows so I don't want to go too dark, but I think it looks silly if you only do the back windows, or have drastically different tints on the front vs back. From looking around at pictures I'll probably go with something like 25-35 all the way around.

And yes you can get a doctor's exception for tints, however, I think it's similar to the eyeglasses where if you're pulled over driving an untinted car you can get in trouble too.

Actually under the WV state code 17c-15-36 which is the whole law on window tinting in section f it states the following;
"(f) The provisions of this section do not apply to a motor vehicle registered in this state in the name of a person, or the person's legal guardian, who has an affidavit signed by a physician or an optometrist licensed to practice in this state that states that the person has a physical condition that makes it necessary to equip the motor vehicle with sun screening material which would be of a light transmittance or luminous reflectance in violation of this section. The affidavit must be in the possession of the person so afflicted, or the person's legal guardian, at all times while being transported in the motor vehicle."

So yeah a Dr. does trump a state law

Mine cost $125 for all four doors+back window.

I have all 5% tint.

Wouldn't get anything else ever again <3.

Edit: I'm in Orlando, FL.

Hey guys start posting your tinted window pictures.

I got 20% in FL all the way around and front windshield strip, no issues even when I've been pulled over for speeding a few times. Paid $170, they came to my work and did it, lifetime warranty, and free replacement even for scratches, no matter how it happened.

Yeah I'm kinda with blanthony..I'm in south Florida and I have 15% on the front and 5% everywhere else and nothing..this is my 3rd car with 15% and 5%..as long as they can barely see a difference from the front and rear u should be good..hopefully I didn't just jinx myself..lol..
