I would have gotten this if the damn GT deck lid spoiler didn't leave behind x5 square holes

I have this one, I'm pulling the factory one off next month (my body shop is booked up until the 22nd) and getting it installed. For the holes you just tape over them with metal tape (done this on many bed rails before Linex) and this spoiler will hide everything. I'll post pictures once complete. Also, when I purchased, I offered them $100 to my door and they accepted.

Make sure to check that this spoiler is large enough to cover the big square holes in your trunk BEFORE you remove the factory spoiler!!!!

I Hate to be a debbie-downer - but I think you're going to find it doesn't. Hope I'm wrong...

Appreciate the advise! I checked it out, its placement starts right where the OEM unit does on the top, the sides meet righ up to the edge of the trunk like the OEM unit and on the back side it comes over the top edge just slightly. Kind of hard to explain, but its foot print is just slightly larger than the OEM unit, roughly the same front and side coverage, with a little more coverage on the back. I would've just threw it on myself, but I want it as flush as possible and painted better. My local shop is super fair priced and will hook it up for $150 if I do the prep!

Good luck! I ordered x2 spoilers. That one and another one that had a larger top foot print. After I pulled off the factory spoiler and fitted that one, it didn't cover the holes for me. When it sits at the edge but the top part just didn't have enough surface area to cover the square holes, which are quite sizeable. Luckily I had the 2nd spoiler on hand because I destroyed the factory spoiler during the removal. Lol.
Those spoilers are made in China where they don't have a GT variant so don't have to worry about the GT OEM lip.

Ugh, I took another look and I might be in trouble! China sucks! Working out a plan with my body shop...

If you remove the insulator under the trunk lid you can see the square holes - Why Kia did this is beyond comprehension. Why didn't they just make holes for the spoiler's studs?!?!

OTOH why they felt the need to seriously hold down this little flat "spoiler" is a mystery. Heck, Porsche uses double sided tape to hold down some of their 2-pedestal wing spoilers...LOL!

My Volvo S60 had the same spoiler and it was just held on with double sided tape. I guess Kia figured these GTs were capable of going unimaginable speeds and required x5 freakin bolts to hold down this tiny piece of plastic.
Either that or they didn't want the non-GT owners to be able to add that lip cheapily and easily and motivate people to upgrade to the GT instead just for the spoiler. Lol.

Just fitted this duck tail on last week that I got off AliExpress. It's not bad, although I wish it was a bit more toned down. But at least it covers up the holes left behind by the factory GT spoiler. Stupid Kia.

I realize this is a very old post but I was cruising around looking at spoilers and saw this on eBay... Looks like they stole @Arith photo!

Yeah they stole my pictures as well for the carbon fiber version. Most popular pictures I've ever taken haha.
My wife's 2010 Forte sedan SX was pictured in ebay spoiler ads for 10 years. Copper color and top of her head poking out of the door opening. They finally stopped using it a few years ago...:)
